I saw a really interesting video just the other day, it enabled me to visualise some interesting facts using Lego figures. I found it quite enlightening especially with a couple of the facts they brought up about race and religion. But, with my marketing head on one fact that jumped out was that 25% of the worldwide population don’t have access to the internet.
Obviously, this fact is made higher by the number of people across the world who live in day to day poverty – but did you know that in the UK there is still 10% of the population that don’t have access to the internet at home?
That’s approximately 2.8m households and over 6.5 million people – that can’t be reached through digital marketing……
When you start out on a marketing campaign, is it right to immediately restrict your target market to this level? I’d say not, and that’s where using direct mail works to help you mobilise this segment of the market.
But adding direct mail into your marketing mix doesn’t necessarily only achieve reaching these people, it also achieves the following – with those people who do have internet access!!
To me it’s pretty clear that by adding Direct Mail to your marketing mix enables you to generate a better impression and reach every corner of the market.
